BLT Built Design Awards for Museum Arnhem and LAB42
Our projects Museum Arnhem and LAB42 both won a BLT Built Design Award.
Partners and Architects Saartje van der Made and Joost Vos shed light on the unique aspects and design processes of their projects in an exclusive interview with Design Magazine / BLT.
The renovation and extension project for Museum Arnhem has received the BLT Built Design Award in Architectural Design – Cultural.
“The museum’s renewal is an exquisite dance between the old and the new. The unique floating wing, delicately balancing 15 meters over the moraine, is a testament to the audacious vision of the architects. The façade, adorned with 82,000 hand-crafted tiles, not only stands out but also seamlessly integrates with the natural surroundings, creating a harmonious dialogue between the structure and its environment.” - BLT
LAB42 has received the same prestigious award in the category Educational.
"This 14,000 m2 structure stands as a symbol of innovation, featuring a modular design that allows for adaptability, reusability, and expansion. The 100% recyclable steel main frame, coupled with incorporated solar panels and rainwater reservoirs, makes LAB42 a pinnacle of energy-neutral, circular architecture.” - BLT
