HLRS III begins to take shape in Stuttgart

At the University of Stuttgart, construction is progressing on HLRS III - a new building designed to house the next generation of supercomputers and power the digital future of AI in Germany.

Designed to set new standards in sustainable construction, the building emphasizes energy efficiency, circular principles, and nature-inclusive design. Already visible on site is the timber structure that will support the High-Performance Computing (HPC) room – a renewable material that not only reduces the building's carbon footprint, but also brings a surprising contrast to a highly technical environment.


On site, you can now see the deep vertical “canyon” that separates the warm, welcoming office wing from the technical heart of the building, along with the round openings in the concrete wall that will offer guided views into the HPC room.
