Station Delft Campus receives special commendation at Brunel Awards 2025

Station Delft Campus received a special commendation at the Brunel Awards, a competition celebrating excellence in heavy railway architecture and other categories. The jury praised Delft Campus for “its innovation, quality, and contribution to the future of rail design,” noting the consistently high standard across all submissions.
Designed by Benthem Crouwel Architects, the station reflects the high ambitions of ProRail and the municipality of Delft. Station Delft Campus is the first completely energy-neutral train station in the Netherlands, thanks to its striking, bat-inspired canopy. Drawing from stealth technology and biomimicry—design inspired by nature—the canopy generates all the power needed to run the station’s facilities, including elevators, lighting, ticket machines, and announcement systems.
